About Our Company
Avens has been delivering, expert, first-class care since 1994. We support adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities to live rewarding lives, while at the same time developing their skills.
We work with private landlords and investors to provide this service in a supported living environment and also have three residential care homes.
By working with landlords we are able to provide quality care, stability and support to individuals, ensuring they have a role in their local community. We are also providing permanent respite for families and friends of the individuals we care for.
We fully endorse and support the Government’s vision to have a society where everyone is respected and included as an equal member of the community and for people to have the opportunity to fulfil their potential. We also agree that all individuals with disabilities should have the same choice and freedom, dignity and control over their lives as non-disabled people.
Through educating and training our staff and supporting our learners to be able to recognise and deliver exceptional care we hope to be able to continue to achieve our high standards of care provision.
As a company we want to continue to build on our reputation and to maintain a good working relationship with East Sussex County Council, Northamptonshire County Council and other industry bodies which we work with. We also want to carry on achieving excellent Care Quality Commission (CQC) results.
We don’t measure success by the amount of contracts we have. We deem ourselves a success because have a financially stable business that has developed slowly, organically and is well respected within the community.
After a time of recession, when many private health and social care providers are struggling, we are maintaining our operating profit. This is due to close working relationship with East Sussex County Council, in particular the Social Services Team and a great Finance & Administration department at our Head Office in Crowborough.
Being a relatively large employer within our community means that not only are we providing employment and training for local people but we are also wherever possible, using and supporting local trades and services.
Mission Statement
Avens Ltd. believe that care should be provided by those who truly care.
To accomplish this goal, we work in Partnership with Local Authority Care Management and Commissioning teams, the NHS, GP practices, local communities, families, friends and advocates and last but never least, the individuals we care for.
We are committed to providing a home that is the true meaning of Home. We gauge true success to be when an individual service user or customer calls their residence ‘home’.
All of our service users and customers are seen as individuals, with very individual needs, we have not succeeded until all these needs are met.
Comments, complaints and compliments from our stakeholders, Care Management, families, friends, advocates, other professionals and most importantly our service users and customers, are always welcome. It is these comments that help us to direct and shape our service, know that we are providing a service that people want and to continue to achieve this for our service users and customers.
We are very proud of our achievements in over twenty years of providing Health & Social Care and we want to improve, and to continue to develop in meeting the individual needs of our service users and customers.
