Waking Night Support Worker (Raunds) - Avens Supported Living Northants
Would you like to support a fun, diverse group of people and make a real difference to their lives?
Avens Supported Living Northamptonshire are currently searching for caring, committed and professional people to join our team of support workers.
Applicants can choose to work between 1-5 nights a week, shifts start at 22:00 and finish at 08:00.
Position(s) available: Waking Night Support Worker
Location: Raunds, Northamptonshire
Contract(s) available: Full time, Part time
Contract Type: Permanent
Earnings: £12,500 - £18,500 per year (depending on contract)
Position Start Date: April / May 2018
About the Applicant:
We are looking for support workers who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring, either through previous roles in Social Care or in other roles. We pride ourselves in delivering Person Centred Care and support; therefore if you have the right values for our organisation, you will be supported by a program of continuous training and development.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided, along with an induction process which includes interviews and trial shifts. This gives those who are new to care a chance to get a feel for what the role entails while also supporting more experienced staff to learn the new set of rules and challenges that await them in their new role.
About the Role:
In the supported living setting, you will be supporting between one to five adults with learning differences. As part of your role, you may be dealing with challenging behaviour, refocusing those we support onto better aspects in their life. Waking Night Support Workers will be required to complete light domesticated duties such as cleaning, meal prep and other household chores. Staff may be required to administer medication, assist with personal care and check and complete paperwork.
Ultimately you are there to ensure that anyone you care for is happy, healthy, secure and loving life.
Avens will be able to provide you with training from our award winning in house training department including:
- Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Awareness
- Medication Administration and Awareness Training
- Person Centred Non Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention (NAPPI)
- Autism Awareness
- Dementia Awareness
- Mental Health Awareness
- Equality and Diversity Training
and many more training topics that will help you understand and develop in your role. We also enrol our staff on the Level 2 or 3 in the Diploma for Health and Social Care, in line with their job role.
Whether you are looking to slowly ease yourself into care work or perhaps just wanting to dive right in, Avens offers contract flexibility that meets the needs of the customers, staff and business.
