Sussex companies celebrate
Two companies which work closely together in the health and social care sector are delighted to have been recognised for their individual endeavours at the annual Business Matters Awards.
Avens Ltd a social care provider for adults with learning disabilities has won an award for their training and development department and Ransley Estates Ltd which offers a specialist property management service was highly commended in the Start-Up category.
Both companies were lucky to be shortlisted for awards in their particular categories against strong competition from across the region. Avens was thrilled to be recognised for the second year running as the winner for their commitment to encouraging and motivating their workforce and their exemplary training programme for their employees.
Ransley Estates who collaborates with Avens as their housing partner was acknowledged for its successes in matching private landlords with social sector tenants since its incorporation.
The awards which celebrated Sussex businesses and their achievements in the previous year were presented at an award ceremony hosted by Fred Dinenage, held at the Arora hotel in Crawley.
The event was attended by representatives for the two companies, Christopher Andrews, C.E.O of Avens, his wife Clair, Avens' training manager and Jennifer Prus, Managing Director of Ransley Estates.
Avens provides training and development for 180 members of staff enabling them to provide a high standard of service delivery for individuals that it cares for. Training Manager Clair remarked: "We operate in a heavily regulated industry and a dedicated, well-trained workforce is vital to what we do and what we achieve for our customers. We've now been offering staff training and continued professional development for the past 13 years and it is hugely gratifying to have our commitment to our staff and our customer care recognised for a second year in a row."
Jennifer Prus established Ransley Estates in 2012 and offers a mediating service between landlords in the buy to let sector and care providers. The company sources private landlords willing to let their properties to tenants from the social care sector works hard to create successful business relationships. Jennifer said: "I was shocked to have been shortlisted. To have my work over the past 18 months acknowledged is a real honour. I hope to be back, in another category again next year."
Avens head office is based within the residential care home in Crowborough, East Sussex. From there the company's care agency, which has branches across the county, is managed. Avens currently provides care and support for individuals across East Sussex and in their second branch based in Northamptonshire.
