Aims and Successes
As specified in our Mission Statement our Aim is provide Vulnerable Adults with a home.
In 1994we opened St Anthony’s residential care home in East Sussex, within 12 months the home had 28service users and was full.
Of the original 28 service users, who moved to St Anthony back in mid-90's, 16 still reside with us and genuinely think of St Anthony as their home.
In 1994 the home employed a total of 30 staff. Today, over 20 years later Avens has three care homes and 21 supported living homes. We provide a home for 123 Vulnerable Adults and we employ in excess of 230 staff.
Although we have hopes of further expansion, it is important to us not to lose the company’s caring ethos, that we maintain a high level of care and that our customers and service users always feel that they are our number one priority.
As an organisation we truly acknowledge the importance of our staff. We are committed to providing a well-rounded workforce who are well-equipped to recognise good and best practice and are able to deliver this in a care setting.
To achieve this we train all of our staff in-house demonstrating to them our commitment to providing a quality service for our customers and to their professional development. We are proud to have our own City & Guilds accredited training provider known as Tailored Training. The success of this is reflected in the fact that all management teams and directors started as support workers and have worked their way to the roles they hold today.
