At Avens, we appreciate that many users may have specific browsing needs which would restrict standard access to webpages. We have therefore designed our site to reflect these needs.

We aim for our site to meet the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) level 3. This means that all our site should meet published accessibility standards. If you find a page which you do not feel is accessible, please contact us.

How to use our site

1) You can turn off images and the main site style settings by choosing the "Text-Only" link. Please note: 1) This still requires style settings (to turn off images) and 2) this will store a small cookie on your PC so your choice is remembered. Please note - turning off images removes them fully from the page.

2) You can change the font size as it appears on our pages. This will also store a cookie on your PC.

3) There is a sitemap for your convenience at the bottom of the page.

4) Where Javascript is used (on our homepage) there is a non Javascript version available.

5) Our site should adjust to a minimum of 800x600px monitors and possibly smaller.

6) Our sites are coded with valid HTML and CSS

7) Where an image requires explanation, there are two ways to view a more detailed explanation of the photo. 1) If your browser/reader can detect the longdesc option for images, then this is enabled and will take you to a page with explanation text. There is a link below the text to bring you back to the page and the point where you left. 2) Alternatively, if you turn of style settings within your browser, you will see a paragraph of text below the image giving more explanation.
